Seth Houston joined the team at Gray Associates in Summer 2019. Seth recently completed his MBA at UCLA Anderson School of Management, where his studies centered on strategy, analytics, finance, organizational behavior, and social impact. He also has deep expertise in higher education, having served for six years as a faculty member at Carroll University and the University of California, Irvine, where he was also associate chair. At Gray, Seth works on the Program Evaluation System (PES), Program Economics Project (PEP), and Market Analysis Program (MAP).
Seth holds a doctorate from the University of Southern California and prior degrees from the University of Michigan, where he received the Regents Fellowship, and Oberlin College and Conservatory of Music, where he graduated with high honors, the top prize in the department of religion, Phi Beta Kappa, and other awards. A conductor and composer, he has collaborated with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Los Angeles Master Chorale, and Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Ellen Reid, among others. His nineteen published compositions and arrangements are widely performed, and his students have gone on to study at leading graduate programs. At UCI, Seth also served on the university’s Council on Educational Policy, which oversees undergraduate curricula across the university, and was chosen as one of 24 faculty to participate in the Provost’s Leadership Academy, a year-long incubator for academic leaders. Seth is excited to help colleges and universities better understand and serve their student populations—and thrive as organizations—with strategic insights informed by advanced analytics.
