New for 2023!

What are the best data sources, analyses, and decision-making processes for evaluating your academic program portfolio?   You will learn all of this in Gray’s Master Class series on best practices in program decision-making.  We will share innovations and insights Gray has developed through our extensive experience conducting program evaluations for colleges and universities.  This information will help your institution:
Improve the quality and increase the speed of program decisions

  1. Identify healthy new programs that can increase enrollment
  2. Determine which current programs have opportunities for further growth
  3. Identify struggling programs in poor markets that may need to be sunsetted
  4. Build consensus on program decisions among faculty and administrators
  5. Help you make sound economic program decisions and avoid expensive mistakes

We will identify the best data sources for evaluating student demand, employment opportunities, and competition in your markets.  We will share the underlying issues with the available data, including weaknesses in public sources (e.g., Google, IPEDS, and BLS) and challenges in paid subscription data. We will show how to calculate program and course economics down to the section level.

How to Cut Through the Chaos and Define Your Institution’s Markets

Defining your markets is an important step in the program evaluation process, but it isn’t always a simple one. For some colleges, the definition of markets is more complex.
